PNW Node Receives $4.5M from HEAL Initiative

To address the opioid epidemic, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) launched the HEAL Initiative to support research aimed at helping people with opioid addiction, and exploring safer treatment options for chronic pain.

The Pacific NW Node, under the leadership of Drs. Dennis Donovan and Mary Hatch-Maillette, has nine projects ongoing or in development under the HEAL Initiative, with funding of about $4.5 million.
