PN Node Article Featured in Latest “Hot Science” Presentation to NIDA Directors

by

At a recent NIDA Directors’ Report meeting, David Liu, Harold Perl, and Paul Wakim gave a presentation highlighting the latest “hot science” in the CTN — recent scientific publications.  The presentation features an overview of an article about CTN-0029 that examined divergence by ADHD subtype in smoking cessation response to OROS-Methylphenidate (read the article in the CTN Dissemination Library); and an article by Theresa Winhusen and colleagues about the impact of recruitment methods on sample characteristics in CTN-0015 (read the article).

It concludes with a description of the findings and implications of a recent article published in the special CTN edition of American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse and written by Bryan Hartzler and Dennis Donovan of the Pacific Northwest Node (with assistance from Zhen Zuang from the CTN Data & Statistics Center), that examined rates and influences of alcohol use disorder comorbidity among primary stimulant misusing treatment seekers across eight NIDA CTN trials  (read the article).
